Prof. Dr. Alan Duben (Gast im WS 2011/12)

Alan Duben is a professor at the Department of Sociology at Bilgi Universität. He studied history/social sciences and social anthropology at the University of Chicago, among others, where he also received his PhD in social anthropology.

He has held positions in the USA and Turkey - he has been a professor at Bilgi University since 1999. His particular research interest is the structure and change of family relationships and households in Turkey, especially in Istanbul.
