Łukasz Mikołajewski ist Assistenzprofessor am Institut für angewandte Sozialwissenschaften der Universität Warschau, Soziologe und Historiker. Er ist spezialisiert auf Ideengeschichte und Anthropologie der Politik. Er ist Mitbegründer des Forschungszentrums für LGBT+ Geschichte und Identitäten an der Universität Warschau. 2012 verteidigte er seine Doktorarbeit am European University Institute in Florenz. 2015 war er Visiting Fellow und am Remarque Institute, New York University. |
Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte und Lehrerfahrungen liegen in den Bereichen Europäische Geschichte, Anthropologie des Vorurteils, autobiografische Schriften, narrative Strukturen, Geschichte des Antisemitismus, Soziologie der Identität und Soziologie des Schweigens.
An der Europa-Universität Viadrina hat Łukasz Mikołajewski seine Lehrerfahrungen im interdisziplinären und fakultätsübergreifenden Programm des Master European Studies (MES) vertieft und sich mit Forschenden der Europa-Universität Viadrina ausgetauscht.

In 2020 – the year of the presidential election in Poland – the Research Center for LGBT+ Histories and Identities at the Institute of Applied Social Sciences (University of Warsaw), in cooperation with the Heinrich Böll Foundation, organized a sociological competition for memoirs written by non-heteronormative people in Poland. This lecture will present the outcome of this competition and explore the collection of nearly 180 autobiographies from a particular angle: what do these memoirs say about the experience of being an LGBT+ teenager in today’s Poland? How do public institutions, such as schools, universities and hospitals, appear? What kind of conclusions could we draw from these personal accounts to contribute to contemporary understandings of human rights, adulthood, relations between parents and their teenage children, public education, and the relationship of religion and the state?
