How influencers and AI jeopardise democracies - Václav Štětka appointed Professor of Digital Political Communication

Prof. Dr Václav Štětka was appointed Professor of Digital Political Communication at the European New School of Digital Studies (ENS) at Viadrina on 10 February 2026. The communication scientist and sociologist researches the connection between a changing media landscape and the rise of illiberalism and populism, especially in Central and Eastern Europe.

Annika Kühn receives research award for her master's thesis

She completed her Master's degree in Soziokulturelle Studien in 2025 with the thesis supervised by Prof. Dr Stephan Lanz. The jury praised Kühn's findings for making a valuable contribution to questions relating to the body, resistance, empowerment and community from post-migrant and feminist perspectives. Annika Kühn received the 2025 Research Award from the Society for Dance Research for her master's thesis on "Dance as a political practice".
