Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schoor

As a literary scholar and lecturer I concentrate on literary culture and communication in their spatial, performative, medial and aesthetic dimensions. Topics of interests are the phenomena of cultural interactions and aesthetical boundary shifts in literature concerning diaspora, exile and migration—in other words the examination of social borderlines par excellence—which have to be reanalyzed in literary studies to reflect contemporary debates on globalization. I particularly focus on German exile literature after 1933 as well as German-Jewish literature from the eighteenth to the twenty-first centuries in German speaking areas, in Europe, and beyond. Other points of interest are both the relation between literature and media and the history and theory of modern poetry from the nineteenth to the twenty-first centuries.

Prof. Dr. Kerstin Schoor has a research semester in winter term 2023/24.
