Promotionsthema: “Impact of Current Socio-Economic Transformations on Migratory Movements of Georgia's Greek Community”. This PhD project is focused on the mass emigration of Georgia’s Greek community after the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Based on fieldwork data and synthesis of modern migration theories, it emphasizes social and economic conditions as the main driving factors of emigration, rather than repatriation or ethnic belonging.
