With Christmas greetings,
Bridge course for new students in WS 2016/2017
In the coming winter semester 2016/2017, we would like to organise a so-called "bridge course" for newly enrolled students during the introductory week - by students for students - on 4 and 5 October 2016 in LH 101/102. The aim of the bridge course is to make it easier for the "newcomers" to get started by giving them an insight into studying at the Viadrina. We are still looking for students who are willing and have the time to help organise this. If you are interested, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. You will receive 3 ECTS credits and a small monetary compensation.
MES Committee Meeting
The first MES Committee meeting of the summer semester will take place this Tuesday, 7 June 2016. Anyone interested is invited to come along. Meeting point 15:15 in front of AM on the benches. We are looking forward to starting new projects together with you and to start planning the one or other event.
Excursion to Cyprus
From 7-11 July 2015, 15 MES students went on an excursion to Cyprus. The thematic focus was the inner-Cypriot conflict, its consequences for the Republic of Cyprus and the consequences for Turkey's accession negotiations to the EU. The aim of the study trip was to give the students an insight into the inner-Cypriot conflict, which has dominated everyday life and politics on the island for over 40 years now. Through the exchange with Cypriot and German experts, the development of the conflict since the invasion by Turkish forces should be made tangible. At the same time, the consequences of the conflict for Turkey's EU accession ambitions will be discussed. The programme also includes an examination of everyday life in Nicosia - the last divided city in Europe. Border crossings to the northern part of the country, a meeting with Cypriot students from the Goethe-Institut, explorations of other regions and visits to cultural and historical sites are planned.
MES Christmas Party
07.12.2015, from 6 pm
Every year, the MES celebrated its small Christmas party in a cosy circle of students, teachers and friends. With a huge buffet, mulled wine and cosy Christmas carols, everyone got to know each other (better) and for the very steadfast there were presents at the end.
07 - 08.04.2015, from 10 a.m.
This semester again, a so-called "bridge course" took place during the introductory week - by students for students - on 07 and 08 April 2015. More information on the programme of this bridge course can be found here. If you are interested in participating in the next bridge course, please contact email@example.com. You will receive 3 ECTS and a small expense allowance.

MES Christmas Party
20.05.2014, from 5 pm, Guest House (Sophienstraße 6, FFO)
Half of the semester is over, the Christmas season has begun and before most of us go home, we want to get together again. In order to bring together new and "old" MES students outside of lectures and the like, the MES Committee invites all MES students and lecturers to the annual MES Christmas party.

MES barbecue for the European election: EAT VOTE EUROPE
20.05.2014, from 5 pm, Guest House (Sophienstraße 6, FFO).
The MES Committee invites all MESers and lecturers to a barbecue with the motto EAT VOTE EUROPE.
Who will win the race this year and become the culinary honorary citizen of Europe for the entire year with the coveted "Europe Prize" for their European or regional dish?
What does it take? Everyone contributes their individual European or regional dish to create a colourful European barbecue! At the end of the evening, each guest will "vote" for each dish.
Music, a basic supply of sausages and some beer and soft drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring something!

In a nice and informal atmosphere, we offer you the opportunity to get to know your future fellow students and the MES staff better and to ask your questions.
