Energy Policy and the Tensions of the Twin Transition: Mobilising Digital Technologies for the Green Deal
6 ECTS
Praxisseminar: MES: Praxismodul: praxisrelevante Fertigkeiten
Veranstaltungsbeginn: 21.10.2022 Fr, 14 - 16 Uhr
The European Commission has consistently referred to the "Twin Transition", the "green and digital transformation" in the context
of its "Green Deal" growth strategy. Digitalisation and sustainability are meant to lead the economy and society into the future.
With the help of policy field analysis, this practical seminar deals with the institutional structures, decision-making processes
and organisations entrusted with the digital and sustainable transformation. Students will identify and work on content-related
interfaces that are to be grasped with an integrated approach. They will critically address the question of what added value
digital technologies can provide for actually overcoming challenges in the context of the transformation of the energy system.
Representatives from politics and business at national and EU level will be asked through interviews about their understanding of
their roles and repertoires for action. The students will analyse and evaluate which instruments such as regulation, technologies
and governance models (e.g. energy communities) can be used to realise the above-mentioned added value.
