he fact that the mediation of the heritage-related contents plays a central role was known to Max Dvořák who 1916 published his "Catechism of the Heritage Preservation". His message was timeless, but the communication culture has developed considerably since then. In the era of Web 2.0, it has become more complex, more diverse and more promising. The highly medially processed, customer-oriented and interactive "story-telling" is now used by all the world's leading museums including the Getty Institute. Its potential is however used rather hesitantly in the field of heritage conservation, although the run of visitors during the Heritage Days (on average, 5 million visitors) indicates a certain potential of interest.

It therefore belongs to the curriculum of the European Cultural Heritage Master’s course to promote the knowledge of the above PR techniques. According to the socio-cultural knowledge base, museum education and exhibition methodologies, various projects are carried out in cooperation with the Axel Springer Academy, with the Berlin-Brandenburg Foundation for Prussian Palaces and Gardens and with the Berlin Heritage Authority. Among other goals of the Master’s course programme there are: the optimization of one’s own work (in cases of the "freelancers"), the independent project development and acquisition of funds (fundraising) in a larger organizational context (foundations, NGOs). This study can therefore be beneficial for representatives of various professions in the field of preservation of cultural heritage, because the courses offered within its frameworks are rarely part of the traditional models of conservation training. The graduates of other disciplines (eg. economics - social sciences, lawyers or artists) are welcome here, as they could significantly contribute with their new approaches and perspectives.
