MICS Study Programme

In the specialized track "Intercultural Communication" (MICS) within the Master "Language - Media - Society" processes of intercultural interaction in the German-Polish border region are focalized. These interaction processes are embedded into higher order interactional contexts between Eastern and Western regions of Europe.

The emphasis of the track arises from a specialization in the mandatory module "Intercultural Communication" (mostly in English), which is offered in cooperation with the Adam-Mickiewicz University in Poznań. 24 ECTS in the module "Intercultural Communication" will be completed with teaching staff from the AMU, either at the Collegium Polonicum or directly at the Adam-Mickiewicz University.

Additionally, students of the track "Intercultural Communication" learn the Polish language completing level A2 (Unicert Basis, 9 ECTS credits) within the module "Foreign languages/Practical Skills". Native speakers of Polish usually contribute another foreign language on the A2 level (Unicert Basis).

The Master's thesis is written in English and will be supervised in a cooperation of teaching staff from the AMU and teaching staff from the Viadrina.

Here you can find a template (in German) for the course of studies within the MICS track.
