Conference: International Society for Gesture Studies
Prof. Cornelia Müller and colleagues traveled to Nijmegen in early July for the 10th Conference of the International Society for Gesture Studies (ISGS). This year’s focus was “Motion to meaning: Innovations in multimodal language research”. She held a pre-conference workshop on “The family of away gestures: An emerging kinesic-semantic network”.
Prof. Cornelia Müller kicked-off a pre-conference workshop hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics with her talk about “The family of away gestures: An emerging kinesic-semantic network”; and Clara Kindler-Mathôt took part in a symposium and presented on “Marking contrast multimodally: the co-occurrence of ‘eigentlich’ and Palm Up gestures in spoken German” with Silva Ladewig and Vincius Machuch Silva.
It was excellent to be among those deeply engaged in the field of gesture studies to discuss, learn, and share about exciting innovations and advancements together! We look forward to the next time!
