The Role of Social Media in Islamist and Right-Wing Extremist Discourses in Germany – Insights from Civil Society Monitoring Practice
Last week, the VCGMS hosted an insightful talk by Niklas Brinkmöller and Niklas von Reischach from the Violence Prevention Network on "The Role of Social Media in Islamist and Right-Wing Extremist Discourses in Germany – Insights from Civil Society Monitoring Practice" as part of our International Lecture Series.
In times where many people inform themselves online and become emotionally invested via social media, it is crucial work to examine extremist strategies. The Violence Prevention Network monitor activities of extremist actors on social media. Niklas Brinkmöller and Niklas von Reischach gave insights on Islamist and on Right-Wing Extremist Activities. We brought together our different expertise and viewpoints to discuss aesthetic strategies of videos actors put on social media.
Thank you for visiting us and strengthening the relationship between science and practice! We look forward to the next time!
