Invitation for International Workshop “Turning the Tide: Opposing Challenges to Democracy Across Contexts”

Democracies around the world are increasingly experiencing processes of autocratization and democratic backsliding. While much research has focused on the actors driving these developments, far less attention has been given to those resisting authoritarian tendencies. This international workshop addresses that gap by examining different forms of opposition to populism, autocratization, and democratic backsliding, with a particular focus on Central and Eastern Europe.

The workshop brings together scholars from various countries and academic levels.
