Welcome to the pages of the Polish Guest Lectureship of the Meyer-Struckmann Foundation at the Master in European Studies!

Since the winter semester 2020 / 2021, the Master in European Studies (MES) has a three-year

Polish guest lectureship, which is funded by the Meyer-Struckmann Foundation. In future,

the visiting lectureship will be filled in the summer semester, during which the alternating guest professors

will offer two courses in MES. The guest lectureship is intended to expand the range of courses

with regard to Poland in its European relations, intensify cooperation with Polish universities and promote

exchange between German and Polish students.

"With the visiting professorship, which is thankfully funded by the Meyer-Struckmann Foundation, the MA European Studies systematically continues its long-standing interest in cultural and political developments in Poland. We are grateful that with Elżbieta Opiłowska we were able to attract an outstanding scholar from Poland for the first year."

Prof. Dr. Timm Beichelt, Professurinhaber und Leiter des Studiengangs MES

The Collegium Polonicum, which is run jointly with the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan,

the Centre for Interdisciplinary Polish Studies (ZIP),

the Chair of Culture and History of Eastern and Central Europe,

as well as lively bilateral student and researcher exchanges with Polish universities

show that Viadrina is a place of Polish expertise.

Since 2009, there has also been a German-Polish double degree programme

in the Master of European Studiesin cooperation with Adam Mickiewicz University.

The guest lectureship aims to further stimulate this well-founded mutual exchange.
